Saddle Blanket Seat Covers are the grandfather of the industry.
They’re sometimes referred to as Mexican Blanket Seat Covers, Indian Blanket Seat Covers or Western Seat Covers. The material is a heavy duty polypropylene fabric with a 2,600 Denier Rating. It features multi-color woven strands that are abrasion tough with a wear rating of 100,000+.
Up until 2015, all saddle blanket fabrics were woven and finished in a couple of ways:
They were woven without any additional backing, so after a week of sliding in and out of your seats the weave would come apart and you'd see through to your original seats. To better control the stability of the weave, companies will spray a white acrylic backing to keep the weave of the material from spreading apart.
The sprayed acrylic was an "OK" idea if you didn't mind damaging your leather seats or having the acrylic backing break apart and leave a bunch of white dust and sandy dirt on your cloth seats. We didn't want customers buying Saddle Blanket Seat Covers only to discover how much damage it was causing their original seats. After all, aren't seat covers supposed to protect seats?
When Northwest decided to manufacture Mexican Blanket Seat Covers, we didn't want all of the problems the acrylic backing was causing. We started by replacing the 60 grit-like acrylic backing and replace it with a Tyvek® style non-woven fabric. Our solution to use a non-woven backing fabric to stabilize the Saddle Blanket Seat Covers worked perfectly!
We decided to brand it as Outlaw™ Saddle Blanket Seat Covers.
It didn't leave a mess on the original seats and gently buffed original leather seats. The Bonus feature was that the non-woven fabric acted as a dust catcher which prevented soil and sand from going through the fabric and onto the factory seats.
If you’re looking for the Best Mexican Blanket Seat Covers to protect your seats, then our Outlaw™ Saddle Blanket Seat Covers are Engineered and Guaranteed to provide you with the Best Seating Protection in this category!

Northwest Seat Covers - Seat Style Guide
Leonardo DiVinci may have produced a hand drawing of his idea for a self-propelled vehicle in 1495 and Karl Benz may have first introduced the idea of a motorized “Tricycle” with a single bucket seat in 1886 but, it was Ransom Eli Olds who introduced the “Oldsmobile Curved Dash” in 1901 with its bench seat that got everything rolling.
All modern-day automotive seating can trace its origins back to the classic bucket style seat from Daimler -Benz and bench seat from that Oldsmobile in 1901.

HEADREST AND LATCH HOLES
In many models, headrest holes, power holes and/or latch holes are not cut. This is due to past trouble with properly aligning the covers once the holes were cut. In these cases, it was deemed better to cut the holes once the Saddle Blanket Split Bench Seat Covers is properly aligned and installed.
To make these holes, simply install your Mexican Blanket Seat Covers, then cut a small "X" cut over the area where the hole needs to be. Then, in the case of a latch hole, lift the cover up and slide the latch through the hole.
This process ensures that the holes are placed in correct spot every time!

Since 2005 this is our fourth set of seatcovers for new vehicles. Honda Civic 2005 Ford F 150. 2006 Jeep Wrangler 2015 Ford F-250 2016, The F 150 which I sold to a waiting fiend looked new inside and the covers showed no wear (142000 km). I now have a complete set on the F250 .I ordered late on a Friday and the box was at my doorstep on Wedesday. Installation took 2.5 hours.Everything fit perfect. Hints : I use a two foot shorthorn to push flaps under the bottom of the backs and tie zap straps to the pull elastic so on the sides so to easily find them. Amy only complaint is that they do not make a Dash Mat !! Best product ever. Ken.

Couldn't beat the quality and construction of these covers. That being said, the Installation Manual was pretty much useless! Throw it away and play a guessing game on the install. Sorry, but Live Chat was of absolutely no help at all. Took almost 4 hours to install these covers on the rear seats of my '12 Silverado because of trial and error.. They did come out nice tho, have to admit!
